Your First Visit
We are always excited about meeting new patients during their first visit to our office. At your first visit, Dr. Caggiano will perform a FREE clinical exam and consultation. We will take the time to answer any questions you may have, and most importantly, you get to meet us!
At this visit we will discuss your orthodontic needs and desires, review possible treatment options, and determine if you are ready to begin orthodontic treatment. In some younger patients, Dr. Caggiano will have to monitor tooth eruption and jaw growth as the child matures. Those patients will be placed on our “Recall Program” for periodic checkups.
Your orthodontic consultation is followed by a financial consultation where we discuss our professional fees, describe our financing options, and electronically verify your insurance benefits.
If you decide to proceed with treatment, we will need diagnostic records to complete our diagnosis and to develop a custom treatment plan for YOU (we realize that each smile is unique). For your convenience, we often can take the diagnostic records the same day. Complete diagnostic records typically include a medical/dental history, plaster study models of the teeth, photos of the patient's face and teeth, and orthodontic X-rays. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as your teeth move under orthodontic care.
Please help us prepare you for your first visit by:
- Filling out your forms securely online, or print them out and bring them with you to your first appointment. Click here for patient forms.
- Bring any panoramic x-rays or other orthodontic records taken within the past six months.
- If you have orthodontic insurance, bring your insurance card. By providing this information at the first visit, we will be able to give you an estimate of your costs.
